Corey Brewer isn’t sure why, but he’s one of those players that seems to be a Raptor-killer.

Over his long career, Brewer has shot 48.9% from the field against Toronto, tied for his best mark against any of the NBA’s 30 teams. And that was before he went off for 23 points in Sunday’s win, his second-highest tally of the season, on near-50% shooting. Brewer nailed five three-pointers and was a game-best +19.

Why do his eyes light up when he goes up against the Raptors?

“I just play well against them,” Brewer said, refusing to take credit for sparking his club.

“Just happy we got the win tonight, it’s a big win for us, we really needed it.”

Interim head coach J.B. Bickerstaff was more willing to sing Brewer’s praises.
