Indeed the NBA’s leading scorer has been huge for Houston, but one player alone will not determine whether they hoist the Larry O’Brien championship trophy to the rafters next June. And don’t forget about mentioning Dwight Howard or Josh Smith as reasons why the Rockets are a contender this season. There will also be several other crucial pieces to a Rockets’ championship puzzle if they are to add to their back-to-back titles in 1994 and 1995 and win a third crown.

Enter Corey Brewer, a new addition to Houston who has already had a huge impact to the Rockets’ recent success since coming over in a trade from the Milwaukee Bucks on Dec. 19.

Brewer is agile, mobile, quick and plays the game as if he has consumed massive quantities of energy drink and a couple of cups of cappuccino. He makes his opponents appear as if they were moving in slow motion when he flashes by them. One of the main reasons why Brewer was acquired by Houston was for his unparalleled energy and also his defensive abilities.
