As part of the ongoing celebration of 100 years of Portland High School, it was announced on Friday evening that Corey Brewer, Glenn Glover, Roger Perry and Betty Wiseman are the four members of the Portland High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

There is a plaque in the lobby of the gymnasium with the names of the inductees.

Brewer – who was represented on Friday night by his mother, Glenda Brewer, as he was playing for the Houston Rockets during the time of the ceremony – was a 2004 Portland graduate.

He was a standout in football, track and field, and basketball.

As a senior, Brewer averaged 29.4 points and 12 rebounds per game, was named to the McDonald’s All-American First Team and to the Parade All-American Team. He was the Class AA Mr. Basketball and the Tennessee Gatorade Player of the Year.

Brewer also won a state title in the high jump.
