The wide smile from Corey Brewer remains. So do the memories.

Brewer is a millionaire NBA forward with the Houston Rockets now, making his mark in basketball’s highest level.

But close to 10 years ago, as a Gator, Brewer and his band of NBA-bound roommates made history by leading the Gators to the first basketball national title in school history. For good measure, the starting core of Brewer, Joakim Noah, Al Horford and Taurean Green all returned as juniors, becoming the first college basketball team to win back-to-back national titles (’06-07) since Duke in 1991-92.

No college basketball team has won back-to-back national titles since the Gators pulled off the feat more than eight years ago. Brewer said he thinks it can happen again, but it won’t be easy.
