Rockets forward Corey Brewer has been on the court with James Harden many times.
But on Monday Brewer, who was traded to the Rockets on Friday, was on Harden’s team for the first time.
Harden had 44 points and seven assists as the Rockets defeated Portland at the Toyota Center.
Brewer played 22 minutes in the game and said he was thrilled to be on the same team with Harden.
“It’s great to be on his team,” Brewer said. I would much rather be on his team than the opposite side. He makes the game so much easier on us because he draws so much attention. I knew he was tough when I was playing against him- the way he gets to the basket and draws fouls. It’s always better for him to be playing on your team.”
