Corey Brewer had a very strong showing in the Nuggets 119-108 win over the Lakers on Monday night. He played 26 minutes, finishing with 16 points, three assists, and two rebounds off the bench. He also had a +16 rating for his team while he was on the court.

With teammate Danillo Gallinari out of the lineup, he was able to take advantage of his extended minutes and join in on the fast-break fun with the rest of the Denver Nuggets; they outscored the Lakers on Monday night 33-3 in fast-break points. Those 33 fast-break points were a season high for the Nuggets.

“The fast-break points, that’s a killer,” said Lakers star, Kobe Bryant. “That team is like a track team over there.”

The older Lakers squad, who had played a close game the previous day in Dallas, were simply unable to keep up with the track meet that took place in Denver on Monday night.

“Our running game was sensational,” said Nuggets coach George Karl.

The Nuggets improved to 24-3 at the Pepsi Center this season which is tied for the second-best home record in the league with Miami, and just behind San Antonio (22-2) for best in the league.

Corey Brewer is having a great season in Denver averaging 11.4 PPG, but he’s having an even better February. Last night was the fifth game in a row that he reached double-digits, and the ninth time in eleven games in the month of February.
