It was reported throughout the trade discussions for Carmelo Anthony that the Knicks would trade Eddy Curry and Anthony Randolph to the Minnesota Timberwolves, who would then send a first-round pick and Corey Brewer to the Denver Nuggets.

Well, Corey Brewer is going to the Knicks, not the Nuggets.

The Knicks acquired Carmelo Anthony, Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams and Ronaldo Balkman in the deal with the Nuggets along with Brewer. The Nuggets receive in return Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler, Timofey Mozgov, the Knicks’ 2014 first-round draft pick, the Warriors’ 2012 second-round pick, the Warriors’ 2013 second-round pick and $3 million in cash.

Of course the main player in the deal is Anthony, but Brewer coming to the Knicks was a surprise since it was being reported that he would go to the Nuggets.

There’s no telling how many minutes Brewer will get, with Shawne Williams, Bill Walker and Toney Douglas expected to get majority of the minutes off the bench.

Brewer averaged 8.6 ppg in 56 games for the Timberwolves this season.
